Tournaments and Poker Features

What is a poker tournament?

In a tournament, players are dealt tournament chips and compete for finishing positions.

Players are normally eliminated when they lose all their chips. Blinds and antes increase over time, and prizes are paid to the player who finishes first and/or to players who finish in qualifying positions.

The blind increase schedule can be viewed under Structure in the tournament lobby.

What is the difference between a Buy-in and an Entry fee?

The tournament entry cost generally consists of the following:

Buy-in + Entry fee

• Buy-in: The amount that usually goes into the prize pool
• Entry fee: The operating fee

For example, if a tournament is displayed as “$10 + $1”, the total cost is $11. Usually, $10 goes into the prize pool and $1 is charged as the Entry fee.

Tournament chips have no cash value.

What is a Satellite tournament?

A Satellite is a qualifying tournament in which players can win entry to, or a ticket for, a larger tournament.

Satellite prizes may be tickets or entries to a specified main tournament rather than cash.

My tournament ticket is missing or cannot be used

Please check the following:

• Whether the tournament result has been finalized
• Whether the ticket matches the eligible tournament
• Whether the ticket is still valid
• Whether you meet the entry requirements
• Whether the ticket is still missing after logging out and back in

If the issue continues, contact support and provide the tournament name, ID, ticket type, date and time of the issue and a screenshot.

What is Late Registration?

Late Registration is a feature that allows players to register for a tournament after it has started, provided registration is still open.

The available registration period and closing conditions vary by tournament.

What is the difference between Re-entry and Re-buy?

• Re-entry: Registering for the tournament again after being eliminated, while registration is still open
• Re-buy: Paying an additional fee during the tournament to purchase more chips

The number of entries or re-buys allowed, the registration period and the conditions vary by tournament.

What is a Jackpot?

A Jackpot is a special prize paid separately from the regular pot when specific hand or game conditions are met at an eligible cash game.

The eligible games, time periods, qualifying hands and payout conditions vary depending on the type of Jackpot. Conditions may include using both hole cards and revealing the cards at Showdown.

Please check the Jackpot rules at the relevant table or in the game.
